Advanced TVOC Identification - SAMPLE ONLY At the time of the inspection a specialized sample is taken for Advanced TVOC identification analysis. You can have the sample analyzed with your inspection or choose to have it analyzed up to 10 days post inspection for an additional cost. TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compound) testing Total VOC (TVOC) testing is important during an indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment because it measures the overall concentration of chemical vapors present in indoor air, not just individual compounds. Many VOCs come from everyday sources such as building materials, furniture, cleaning products, paints, and fuel-burning appliances, and their combined effect can impact health even when individual VOCs are present at low levels. Optional additional services Advanced TVOC Identification w/Contamination Index
VOC identification is important becuase it determines exactly which chemical compounds are present, not just how much total VOCs exist. Different VOCs carry different health risks—some are mild irritants, while others may be toxic, carcinogenic, or capable of causing long-term health effects.
By identifying specific VOCs, clients can trace them back to their sources, such as building materials, furnishings, cleaning products, fuels, or industrial activities. This precision allows for targeted corrective actions, proper ventilation strategies, and safer material choices. VOC identification turns general air quality data into meaningful, actionable results that protect health and indoor environments. The IAQ testing INCLUDES the sample taken and the analysis service can be selected at the time of booking, or you can choose to process the sample up to 10 days after the inspection. (an add'l $50 cost when post inspection) **TBA
Sample TVOC ReportAdvanced TMVOC Identification w/Contamination Index This Advanced TVOC identification includes the TMVOC (Total MOLD VOCs) Count. A mold VOC is a microbial volatile organic compound (mVOC)—a gas released by actively growing mold as it feeds and metabolizes. These gases often create musty odors and can contribute to indoor air quality complaints and irritation, even when visible mold isn’t present. **TBA
